!! OBVIOUSLY, DO NOT LOOK AT THIS PAGE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHICH BOOKS END HAPPILY!
Several authors of pulp fiction tell of being told by their publishers that their stories could not end happily. And the mythology of lesbian pulp fictioin is that the stories always ended with suicide, marriage to a man, or another plot device that prevented lesbians from living 'happily ever after.' However, the more I read the more I find that there are a lot of these novels that end with the two women together. Not too surprisingly it seems that the later the publication date, the more likely it is to have a happy ending. I do, however, think this topic needs more looking into. In the meantime, here is a list, in publication order, of novels that I am finding have happy endings (or more specifically, endings where the women end up together or potentially together).
