Flora, Fletcher. Strange Sisters.
This book is not your typical pulp. There is no sex and no sexy women. It is actually the story of a young woman's descent into murderous madness and reads a lot like Crime and Punishment. It is well written, if very depressing, and those who bought it based on the cover were probably very dissapointed. There is some implication that the woman's problems are due to her lesbianism, but there are also lesbian characters in the book who are NOT so afflicted.
I also wonder who actually wrote this book. Other Fletcher Flora novels are of the pulpy trash variety and bear very little resemblence to this one.
